The control of state-of-the-art particle accelerators requires extremely accurate frequency sources. In cooperation with researchers at the German Electron Synchrotron (DESY) in Hamburg, KVG Neckarbischofsheim will produce and test pioneering master oscillator modules (MO) in the GHz range with a resolution better than 1 femtosecond. The new portfolio also includes the local oscillator generation module (DeRTM-LOG) in the MicroTCA.4 standard.
Both modules will be used in the future at DESY’s accelerator facilities to accelerate elementary particles to almost the speed of light. The KVG modules are thus at the heart of one of the world’s largest research facilities. These experiments are used for basic research in materials science and medicine.
As a reliable partner, KVG will also develop and manufacture these high-precision frequency sources in a wide frequency range for other research and accelerator facilities with the highest precision in the future.
